Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini was full of praise for his team after their Europa League qualification: “We put everything in”. Despite losing the tie 0-1 to Liverpool, La Dea advance to the semi-finals and book a place against Ligue 1 side Marseille. Speaking post-match, Gasperini expressed his pride and happiness at his teams display:
The Atalanta coach began, “We put everything in, undoubtedly helped by a great crowd. From tomorrow, we will think about the next matches.”
Gasperini continued, “We have conceded about ten, maybe even more penalties of this type. Instead, after that penalty, we built a fantastic game.”
He concluded, “There were a couple of dangerous situations. These boys now think with my head. I will never stop thanking them.”
