Juventus youngster Matias Soule says he is talking to the club about his future, but his dream is to one day play for Real Madrid. The Argentine youngster has spent the season on loan with Frosinone, scoring 10 goals to date in an impressive campaign with the Canarini. Speaking in an interview with ESPN Desportes, he shared his hopes for the future and recounted his time with Cristiano Ronaldo in Turin:
Speaking about his connection with Serie A, Soulé revealed, “I am in talks with Juventus, but I am uncertain about what will happen. I am eager, but first, I have these eight matches (with Frosinone). I want to play. At Juventus, I didn’t have many opportunities to play, so I accepted this solution.”
Regarding his choice of Juventus amidst other top clubs, Soulé stated, “Many teams wanted me, including Atletico Madrid, Benfica, and Monaco. Juventus is a great team, an easy and quick decision for me.”
Reflecting on his time with Allegri, Soulé humorously recalled, “He made me cut my hair when he saw me with blonde hair.”
Dreaming big, Soulé expressed his desire to play for Real Madrid, a childhood dream intertwined with winning the Champions League. On Cristiano Ronaldo, he remarked, “I was surprised by what a good person he is. I didn’t know him, but I listened to what was said about him. He’s a genius. I remember one day we went to lunch, and he sat next to me; I had never spoken to him before. I was surprised because I didn’t expect it at all. He told me everything: about the cars he had, how Madrid was.”
In an intriguing twist, Soulé revealed his interaction with Italy’s coach Luciano Spalletti, who expressed interest in having him play for the Azzurri. However, Soulé firmly declined, expressing his preference for representing Argentina.
Recalling his conversation with Spalletti, Soulé disclosed, “Spalletti came to the club (Frosinone). First, my coach told me, ‘Spalletti will call you. He wants to call you up for the next national team call-up.’ Then I spoke directly to him on the phone. Then he came to the club to tell me the same thing, and there, in person, I said thank you but no.” Spalletti urged him to reconsider, citing the upcoming Euros, but Soulé remained resolute in his decision.
