Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana addressed Milan’s interest in him, calling the Rossoneri ‘One of the greatest clubs in the world’. Fofana, a coveted target for Milan’s midfield reinforcement in the upcoming transfer window, shared his thoughts after the Ligue 1 match between Metz and Monaco at Stade Saint-Symphorien. As quoted by MilanNews.it, the 25-year-old shed light on his stance regarding a potential move to the Rossoneri:

“I think Milan is a truly massive club. Everyone knows Milan and its trophy cabinet. But aside from the talk in Italy, I remain focused on my mission,” he stated.

The midfielder’s current mission revolves around steering AS Monaco towards Champions League qualification. Fofana articulated the significance of this objective, likening it to a marathon. “The mission is to bring Monaco into the Champions League, which will be like a marathon. From now until the end of the season, every game is like a final. There are seven matches left to play. We must scrape points where we need to give our all in every game. When you play for Monaco, you know that Champions League qualification is the club’s natural objective,” he explained.

Despite acknowledging Milan’s status as one of the world’s premier clubs, Fofana reiterated his immediate focus on Monaco’s Champions League aspirations. “As I’ve already said, Milan is one of the greatest clubs in the world with an impressive trophy cabinet, but my current focus is on qualifying for the Champions League with Monaco,” he affirmed.
