New Lazio coach Igor Tudor says his players are highly motivated ahead of a visit from Juventus: “The feelings are positive.” The Biancocelesti play their first match under Tudor, hosting his former team at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday afternoon. Speaking to the press, Tudor offered some updates on his squad following the international break and previwed the match against the Bianconeri:
“They all returned in good condition from the national teams. This is important. The problem is that they arrived yesterday or the day before. We worked well with the others. The boys made themselves available. We are doing good work.”
“The feelings are positive. We always approach it with the desire to win and do well. I spent 7-8 years at Juventus, and it was part of my life. It was the phase when one builds oneself as a person. It made me become what I am now, especially for the work culture that I try to transmit.”
The Biancocelesti coach went on to talk about Juventus: “It will be a match against an important opponent with high motivations. The emotions come from this. The coach thinks about how to prepare the team. I think the team always reflects the coach. It takes time and patience to see changes when there is a change in the bench.”
Tudor also analyzed the work to be done after a change of coach: “There are two things that penalize this transition from one coach to another. One thing is that Sarri has been here for three years and, above all, he is a strong coach. You have to be very careful or eager. We always talk about formations, but they are not as important as you think. You start with a formation, but then it changes on the field. It’s not so much the formation but how it’s interpreted. I haven’t tried Felipe Anderson as a full-back. He is always available and has great legs. He is always available. We’ll see how the team responds going forward. Luis Alberto and Zaccagni can play together; it’s important to have strong players. If a coach is good, he finds a place for them.”
Regarding Immobile: “I have talked to him a couple of times. I saw him very good and very motivated. He cares about the National Team. I think it only depends on him. We talked a lot, including about this topic. I saw him eager to do well. These two months are important for him. He has always scored goals, and I think he will continue to do so. He has footballing and human qualities. I am convinced that these two months will be very important in the end. Kamada? He is a complete player who has both pace and intelligence. I saw him cheerful and eager. Now let’s see when the games come because the field is what counts. As for the hierarchies, we respect what has been done in the past, but we cannot live in the past.”
