Napoli are advancing in their efforts to secure a new contract for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, signaling a positive development in the ongoing negotiations. Previous rumours had hinted at Napoli’s desire to extend the Georgian winger’s contract, albeit without significant headway. However, recent reports from Daniele Longo indicate a breakthrough in the talks, with negotiations now moving in a promising direction.
According to Longo, indirect communications between the two parties have taken place, marking a crucial step forward. There’s a growing sense that an agreement is within reach, with a pivotal meeting scheduled between the club representatives at the conclusion of the season.
With Napoli keen on retaining Kvaratskhelia amidst the looming departure of Victor Osimhen, the club is sparing no effort to secure the winger’s long-term commitment. Napoli recognizes the importance of not losing both talents simultaneously and is thus intensifying its endeavors to retain the Georgian international.
Reports suggest that Napoli could offer a substantial wage increase to Kvaratskhelia, potentially quadrupling his current earnings with a proposed annual salary of around 4.5 million euros.
However, two key issues remain to be resolved in the negotiations. Firstly, the parties need to agree on the duration of the contract, and secondly, there’s deliberation over the inclusion of a release clause. Napoli’s president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, is inclined to set the release clause at a considerable level, adding complexity to the discussions.
