Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani dismissed links between the club and the Saudi PIF as ‘speculation’: “There is nothing true about them.” Furlani was speaking with Sky Sport Italia ahead of their 4-2 win over Slavia Prague and addressed the rumours that suggest PIF will be looking to take on minor ownership in the Rossoneri:

“It’s a good moment for the team. We’re getting back players who have been out for a few months. We can compete for the rest of the season and also for the Europa League, which we have never won. We want to do our best.”

When asked about the remarks made by Paolo Cardinale in London a few days prior, Furlani underscored the alignment of their messages. He was present with Cardinale during the interview and urged viewers to revisit it in English. Furlani highlighted Cardinale’s focus on innovation, forward-thinking, and growth, stating that Milan’s efforts are directed towards continuous improvement.

Addressing speculation regarding potential investment from Arab funds, Furlani reiterated Milan’s concentration on achieving results for the club and dismissed the rumors as unfounded. He stated firmly, “We work and are focused on the results to bring to Milan. These are speculations, there is nothing true about them.”

Regarding Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s role as a club executive, Furlani praised the collaboration between himself and the legendary striker. He emphasized Ibrahimovic’s wealth of experience and described him as both a champion on the field and off it. Furlani expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside Ibrahimovic, stating, “Zlatan and I work as part of a team. We are in full harmony; he brings a lot of expertise. He was a champion on the field, and he will be off the field. I am fortunate to be able to work with him.”
