Sassuolo have officially appointed coach Davide Ballardini as a replacement for the recently fired Alessio Dionisi. The Neroverdi decided to part ways with their former coach after a 3-2 defeat to Empoli last week which left in the relegation zone.
Accompanied by his agent Claudio Peverani, Ballardini signed his contract with Sassuolo until June, with the first training session under the guidance of the former Cremonese coach scheduled for 3:00 PM, with Carlo Regno and Nicola Tarroni joining as assistants.
Ballardini last coached Cremonese in 2023 but was dismissed after a poor start in Serie B.
