Barcelona coach Xavi says he was ‘surprised’ by Napoli’s decision to change coach ahead of their Champions League clash. The two sides face off in the first-leg at the Stadio Maradona on Wednesday evening, and ahead of the match, Xavi shared his thoughts on the match:
“There are grounds for a great match against a Napoli side that, surprisingly, has changed its coach. They must have had their reasons.
“Calzona knows the city, but it’s not easy to prepare for such a match given the coaching change. We’ll need to play with personality as we face the reigning Italian champions.
“Napoli have a top-level trio with Politano-Osimhen-Kvaratskhelia.”
“Favorites? It’s a 50-50 situation. We won LaLiga, they won Serie A. Our season has been irregular, and so has theirs. There are no favorites.”
