Fabio Liverani is the new head coach of Salernitana, marking the third change in the dugout for the Campania-based club after Paulo Sousa and Filippo Inzaghi.
After initial discussions following the decision to dismiss Filippo Inzaghi following the home defeat against Empoli, the club ultimately chose to invest in Fabio Liverani. The talks between the coach and Sabatini, the club’s management, were reportedly positive following their meeting in Rome.
In the official statement released by the club, it reads: “U.S. Salernitana 1919 announces that an agreement has been reached with Mr. Fabio Liverani and he has been entrusted with the technical leadership of the first team.”
Liverani, who has previously managed clubs like Lecce and Parma, now faces the task of steering Salernitana up the league table, with the team currently sitting in the third-to-last position, six points adrift from safety.
