De Rossi: “Llorente Not at His Best, I Preferred Not to Risk Him. I Have Great Confidence in Huijsen”

Daniele De Rossi says and Diego Llorente is not 100%, but he has faith in Dean Huijsen ahead of their match with Inter. The Giallorossi boss spoke with DAZN just before kick off and shared some updated on his squad:

“First big match as Roma coach? It’s exciting, as was the debut and the first away game. It’s a beautiful mix of emotions and strong feelings. Fortunately or unfortunately, there’s also a match to prepare. I don’t have the leisure to think about the atmosphere; I’m very calm.”

“Why is Huijsen playing instead of Llorente? Llorente could have played, both are important players. Llorente had come off early against Cagliari due to a small problem, and in the last two days, he hasn’t trained much. Since I won’t have Huijsen for the next Europa League match, I preferred to let Dean play. I have great confidence in him; he’s young, has personality, and can help us.”

“Lukaku? I’ve seen a player like all his teammates, calm and tranquil, against a very strong team. We’re playing against a very strong team; they have some flaws like all teams. Anything can happen; I’ve played against strong teams and won, and played with weaker teams and lost. The result is open. They are a great team, and at the end of the match, we hope they realize that we are too.”
