AC Milan Keeps Merih Demiral Option Alive; Maxence Lacroix of Interest

Start

Milan are actively pursuing defensive reinforcements in the final days of the winter transfer window, with a focus on Merih Demiral. Despite the challenges, the club is also considering Maxence Lacroix from Wolfsburg.

Sky Sport Italia report that in a bid to bolster Stefano Pioli’s defensive options following Matteo Gabbia’s return from loan, Milan are on the lookout for a reliable defender. The club has explored several profiles, predominantly young talents. Among them is Merih Demiral, who has recently played in Serie A with Sassuolo, Juventus, and Atalanta before moving to the Saudi Pro League with Al Ahli.

The interest in Demiral persists for Milan, even though negotiations are proving to be complex. The Rossoneri’s objective is to secure a straightforward loan deal, allowing the Turkish defender to return to Italy after a brief stint in Saudi Arabia, donning the AC Milan jersey until the end of the season.

While the pursuit of Demiral continues, Milan are also considering Maxence Lacroix, a French center-back currently playing for Wolfsburg. In recent hours, Milan’s scouts observed Lacroix in action during the match between Wolfsburg and Cologne. Despite the live assessment, Lacroix remains a target for the summer transfer market, as Wolfsburg is reluctant to part with him in January.
