Timothy Weah Rejects Everton Loan, Aiming to Make Impact at Juventus

Start

In recent reports, it has been revealed that Juventus winger Timothy Weah has turned down a proposed loan move to Everton, expressing his determination to establish himself at the Italian club.

According to Guardian Sport writer Ed Aarons, Everton presented an offer for a loan move, but Weah swiftly dismissed the opportunity, opting to continue his efforts with Juventus.

The US Men’s National Team (USMNT) star, who is set to turn 24 next month, made a notable transfer to Juventus in the summer for €11 million plus bonuses from Lille. Despite the high expectations, Weah has faced challenges in leaving a significant impact in Turin, tallying just one goal and one assist in 19 appearances across Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

Capable of playing on both the right and left side of midfield, Weah faced a setback in his playing time under coach Max Allegri after sustaining a thigh injury in November 2023. As a result, he slipped down the pecking order, with Andrea Cambiaso often preferred in the starting lineup.

Recent statistics show that Weah started only one of the last seven Serie A matches, reflecting a decrease in his regular playing time. Juventus, having previously sent Moise Kean on loan to Everton last season, seemed open to the idea of offering Weah more opportunities on the field. However, the son of football legend George Weah made it clear that he was not interested in the proposed loan move.
