Salernitana president Danilo Iervolino went on an angry tirade after their loss to Napoli: “It was a Scandalous refereeing direction. And if you speak badly, they take revenge the next time.” The club were already incensed following their defeat to Juventus, alleging that the referee had missed a Federico Gatti foul, and were further angered following a 2-1 loss to Napoli:
“We want a moratorium and total replacement of these referees. It is necessary to start from the head, we are clamouring for the resignation of designator Gianluca Rocchi.”
“I have no words for the refereeing, which is offensive and mortifying for our club. On Simy there was a penalty and Demme’s one on Tchaouna was a foul, they are incredible. We don’t just want respect, but justice for us and all the other teams that play in Serie A and suffer the gross errors of semi-professionals, the referees.
“The only semi-professionals in an industry of professionals. We want better professionals to referee. The attitude of referees is harmful. And then, if you speak, they become vindictive in the next game. History will remember these referees as the worst in Italian football.”
