Empoli are closing in on the signing of Como striker Alberto Cerri in a bid to improve their failing front line. The Tuscan side boast the worst goal return in Serie A, managing just 10 goals in 18 games so far this season.
Sky Sport Italia report that the Cerri has been identified as a primary target for Gli Azzurri, having made just five appearances so far this season.
The former Juventus youth product has spent the majority of his career moving around Serie A and B, having turned out for the likes of Cagliari, SPAL, Pescara and Perugia.
