Napoli are set to announce their first singing of the January transfer window, as Pasquale Mazzocchi has completed his club medical. The 28-year-old veteran was pictured in Rome earlier today, undertaking routine checks ahead of an official statement from Napoli.
The Partenopei made an initial bid of €3 million for the full-back, but were forced to raise their offer to match Salernitana’s asking price of €5 million, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport,
Napoli are looking for cover for fist choice full-back Giovanni Di Lorenzo and view Mazzocchi as perfect deputy, given that they are competing in Europe and Serie A.
The transfer is expected to free up Napoli youngster Alessandro Zanoli to head out on loan, with Genoa remaining in in pole position.
