Napoli have agreed a deal with Serie a strugglers Salernitana for the transfer of defender Pasquale Mazzocchi. The Partneopei have moved quickly to secure a deal, having been linked with the 28-year-old since the end of last month.
Sky Sport Italia now report that an agreement has been reached between the two sides for a reported €3 million transfer fee, with Mazzocchi having already agreed personal terms.
Sky report that the full-back is now leaving Salerno to travel to the capital of Campania, where he will undergo routine medical examinations tomorrow, Wednesday 3 January, undertaking his first training session under Mazzarri’s team in the afternoon.
Mazzocchi’s entourage had informed Salernitana of their desire to go to Napoli, also on the strength of the agreement already obtained with the Azzurri for a three-and-a-half-year contract with an option for a fourth. This season, Mazzocchi made a total of 19 appearances and also boasts an appearance for the national team in his career to date.
