After several weeks of intense negotiations between both parties, Napoli are set to complete the acquisition of Udinese star-midfielder Lazar Samardzic.
Daniele Longo of Calciomercato reports that the Partenopei have reached an agreement with the Zebrette of transfer fee worth €20m, with additional bonuses up to €5m for the 21-year-old creative midfielder.
The Serbian international is set to sign a long-term contract worth €2.5m per-season, ending his three-year stay at the Stadio Friuli.
Following the collapse of Samardzic’s move to Inter six months ago, the young starlet was eager for an exit from Udinese in order to take part in European football.
So far this season, Samardzic has been on an impressive run of form, amassing two goals and two assists for coach Gabriele Cioffi’s side thus far, resuming from where he left off from last year’s term.
Despite a great deal of interest from Juventus, it seems that Napoli have prevailed in the race for attaining the services of the Serb as the transfer is expected to be completed within the next 24-48 hours.
