Zielinski to join Inter on free transfer in the summer

Start

Reports from Italy suggest Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski will sign for Inter as a free agent in the summer. The Polish international is into the final six months of his existing contract with the Partenopei, and talks over a contract extension have reportedly stalled.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported last week that Napoli are in the market for at least two new midfielders in the January transfer window, one of which will replace Zielinski for the long term.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that  ‘the feeling is that Piotr Zieliński will not renew his contract with Napoli. Inter are very interested in the midfielder and, in addition to speaking with people close to the Polish international, rounds of talks will take place directly between Inter and Zieliński.

Radio Radio journalist Ilario Di Giovambattista goes one step further and reports that Zielinski will arrive in Milan as a free agent in June when his contract ends.

The 29-year-old has been with Napoli for eight years, scoring 50 goals to date in 352 appearances, helping them to win a historic Serie A title in 2022-23.
