Stefano Pioli says his Milan team have been focused on improving the present and the players have no fears. The Rossoneri have struggled for form in recent weeks, ending the Christmas break with a 2-2 draw against Salernitana which called into question Pioli’s immediate future at the club. Despite the pressure, the under pressure coach insisted that his team is focused on overcoming the difficulties they’ve faced:
“Ours has been a week of work. We’re focused on improving the present, tomorrow we want a convincing and winning performance. Last Resort? We just have to think about giving everything on the pitch. In the last period we made mistakes that lowered the level of our competitions.
“Is my future being talked about? I haven’t heard from Cardinale, but I speak directly with the managers. I don’t think about my future, I spent this week working.
“Ibra in Miami? He had already made this type of commitment. But that’s not the problem. I heard from him via text about how the team was doing.”
“You should see how the boys train, the players have no fears, they want to overcome difficulties.
“Leao comes from an injury and he is the classic player of who runs a lot, who stretches’ defences… We have to remember this. Theo Hernandez is giving incredible availability. Then we can all do better. Will Bennacer and Chukwueze be there on two January in the African Cup of Nations? There is hope, but not certainty. I know they’re negotiating with the federations.
