Milan legend Franco Baresi says the Rossoneri must not underestimate Europa League opponents Stade Rennais. Milan were drawn against the Ligue 1 side earlier today, and will host the first-leg at the San Siro on 14 February 2024. Speaking after the draw was made, Baresi warned Milan not underestimate Rennes, but insisted they must still think big:
“In football you must never underestimate anyone, but Milan must think big and be ambitious. French teams are always very dangerous, but Milan, for what it represents, must think about winning.
“We have to take this competition in the best way, motivation must never be lacking. It will be important to recover players and manage commitments.”
“With the recovery of everyone Milan have a squad in which they can compete in every event they will go to, both in the Europa League and the league, you cannot choose.”
