Ahead of their Champions League match with Real Sociedad, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi says he would like to remain with the club for a long time. The Nerazzurri are already qualified for the knockout stage, but a win against the La Liga side would guarantee them top place. Speaking to the press, Inzaghi explained what kind of game he expects and revealed his hopes for the future with the club:
“We know that it will be a difficult match against a quality opponent. For them, playing away or at home makes little difference. It will take a good Inter to get a result. Are we top players? I’m pleased that the first four months went like this but we know that football moves quickly but also what it means to finish first.”
“Turnover? I’ll change something as I always have. We’re having difficulty with rotations at the moment. Some important players aren’t there. I wouldn’t talk about turnover but about some changes. Going first would give great confidence and it would bring a softer draw even if the matches in the Champions League are all difficult.”
“The objective of all coaches is to have a long cycle on the bench. I had one at Lazio and that is my desire. But between desire and hope there is the pitch, in which we are judged in every match.
“Cuadrado is living with a little problem. Let’s see if he will start. Darmian ? He is a player that all coaches would like to have. Calhanoglu ? When Eriksen fell ill I called Marotta and Ausilio and they told me that the they had already contacted him. His qualities were already clear to everyone, then I tested him in front of the defense and he gave the right answers. Pavard passed the test at San Siro and I think he can recover for the next match. Frattesi is well and I hope can play from the start.”
