Inter coach Simone Inzaghi says he wouldn’t sign up for a draw against Juventus if you gave it to him today, calling the Bianconeri an ‘excellent’ team. The Serie A campaign returns with one of the most high-profile fixtures on the calendar taking place tomorrow evening, with Juve set to host the Nerazzurri in Turin. Speaking ahead of the Derby D’Italia, Inzaghi analysed the kind of game he expects from his opponents,
“Tomorrow will be an exciting game, in a full stadium. First will face off against the second. We all know what a Juventus-Inter match means. It will be an important match for both, two teams that are doing very well. Two similar forms, many individual duels: they will be very important.”
“I have very responsible players, who have played many matches at this level. Many of my players have recently returned from national teams, so it seemed right to leave the players as much time as possible with their families”.
“I expected Juventus to be in this position in the standings. It’s a very good team, they always want to win. In addition, they have the great advantage of having more time to prepare for matches. Having said that, I prefer playing in the European cups, but as far as the league is concerned it is an advantage to have more time. As for us, at some times it is said that Inter are an unbeatable team, at others it is said that Inter have weakened.”
“We will have to be concentrated for 95 minutes. They have champions who can decide the match at any moment. It’s a very important match for the path of the championship, but there will be many others afterwards.
“Lately we have won a lot against Juventus, especially in the cup. We have worked a lot on concentration. Would I sign up for a draw? No. You never sign. We’ll go and play our game, aware of the difficulties.”
“Bastoni and Pavard won’t be there. For Sanchez and Cuadrado we’ll evaluate on the day”.
