Mourinho: ‘I don’t know if I’ll stay at Roma – I talked to Friedkin , but not about renewal’

Roma coach Jose Mourinho says he is yet to decide on a potential future with the club: “I spoke with Friedkin, but not about renewal.” The Special One has a contract with the Giallorossi until June 2024, with reports from Italy suggesting he won’t be renewing his deal.

Speaking with TG1, the Portuguese tactician once again confirmed that there’s no certainty on his future in the capital:

“Totti is the number one in the history of Roma. Collaborate with him? I understand the question, but I have to answer in a ‘defensive’ way . I have this reputation, even if my teams score a lot of goals. This is something between Francesco and the club.”

“In the history of Roma, for the first time there have been two consecutive European finals, you can imagine the difficulty. If you think about which teams have historically made three European finals in a row, you’d have to always think in the direction of legendary teams. We try.”

“Will I stay here? I don’t know. The last time I spoke to Mister Dan (Friedkin, ed.) was on the phone ten minutes after the end of the Lazio match, in my office. Last week I spoke with Ryan, we talk about today and today’s work, not about renewal.”
