Inter coach Simone Inzaghi confirmed that they will lose defender Benjamin Pavard for a while, following their 2-1 win over Atalanta. The Nerazzurri were in fine form for the visit to Bergamo, taking the lead from the penalty spot through Hakan Calhanoglu, before Lautaro Martinez added a second to take them to the top of the table. Speaking with DAZN post-match, Inzaghi talked through the match before touching on the status of the Frenchman:
“We knew it would be difficult. In the first twenty minutes they put us under pressure but then we came on top”.
“Pavard? We’ll have to wait a moment. In the clash with Lookman his kneecap came out and then went back in. In my opinion we will lose him for a while but let’s wait for the doctors, who were very good when they intervened”.
“Changes? I wanted to put Bisseck on but then I saw Calhanoglu who gave his all and Asllani is always ready. In this month and a half we’ve had a few problems up front but Lautaro, Thuram and Sanchez have managed well. For Arnautovic there is little left, I think we are there”.
“It looked like a foul on Atalanta’s goal but the referee used the same measure throughout the match. It was a heavy goal but we played well against a strong team with a beautiful turf”.
