Zaniolo ‘happy’ to be linked to big teams

Roma winger Nicolo Zaniolo says he is ‘happy’ with the interest of big teams but it isn’t distracting him from Roma. The 22-year-old is being linked with the likes of Milan and Juventus this summer, having spent much of last season on the sidelines through injury.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport he spoke of the joy of scoring against Trabzonspor after his return:

Finally you’re back to playing real football, the return game with Bodo was the perfect match.

The interest of the big teams makes me happy: if they think of you it means that you are worth it. It does not distract me or make me go crazy. Rather I train even more motivated: I want to show that it is right to be associated with these top clubs.

If that were to happen (leaving Roma, I would miss so many people. Not only Abraham.

Comparisons with Paulo Dybala? It also seems excessive to me to be compared to him. He is unique, a fantastic player, very strong. Let’s see. Life is unpredictable, you never know what happens. In the meantime I train. And I wait.”
