Inter 1-0 Roma: Player Ratings

Start

Inter dominated against a lacklustre Roma side, finally finding the net thanks to some great work from Federico Dimarco and Marcus Thuram.

Inter

Sommer: Barely touched the ball in the first half, such was Inter’s dominance. Forced into a great save from Cristante against the run of play. 6.0/10

Bastoni: Rarely put under any pressure in the opening exchanges, picked up a booking for a dangerous tackle on the edge of the box, but otherwise, he was solid. 6.0/10

Acerbi: An experienced head in a big game, he was cool and composed throughout. 6.0/10

Pavard: Had a few half chances in front of goal, picked up a needless booking and was subbed off before the second half. 6.0/10

Dumfries: Seemed to have the measure of Zalewski in their early exchanges, made some excellent runs in-field to create chances.. 6.5/10

Mkhitaryan: Really inventive at times, including playing in Dimarco in the first half. 6.5/10

Calhanoglu: Wonderful early hit from range to test the Roma goal. Had a better chance in the second half that was deflected wide. 6.5/10

Barella: Dictated the the tempo, seemed to have control of the midfield with relative ease. 6.5/10

Dimarco: Great shot from a tight angle, just wide of the far post. Wicked delivery into the box that was begging to being turned in. Got his rewards from the same position when setting up Thuram with a wicked ball into the box.  7.5/10

Thuram: Cut in from a great solo run but it was a tough chance to finish. Had a toe poke that was well saved by Patricio. Wicked header just over the bar at the start of the second half. Got his goal thanks to a great ball in from Dimarco. Another excellent display from the Frenchman. 8.0/10

Martinez: Bright with his movement, just lacking the final touch to finish off some of his half chances.. 6.5/10

Roma

Patricio: Good improvised goalkeeping to deny Thuram but could do little on the Inter goal. 6.0/10

Mancini: Stupid early booking for losing his cool. Switched off on the Inter goal and seemed to let his emotions get the better of him. 5.0/10

N’dicka: Reliable enough, snuffing out a few Inter chances. 5.5/10

Llorente: Very solid in the first half, the best of the Roma back line. 6.0/10

Kristensen: Wasn’t able to really impact the game for large periods. Very quiet. 5.5/10

Paredes: The best of the Roma midfield but that isn’t saying much in a game where they struggled to get into the match. 6.0/10

Cristante: Forced a great save from Sommer in the second half but didn’t really have much of an impact.  5.5/10

Bove: Wasn’t really able to get a foothold on the game. Flat.  5.0/10

Zalewski: Struggled against Dumfries at times but was the brighter of the two Inter wing-backs. 6.0/10

El Shaarawy: Anonymous in the first ’45, sprung into life when winning a good free kick in the second half. Barely threatened the Inter goal thereafter. 5.5/10

Lukaku: Frustrating opening half, barely had a touch of the ball. More of the same in the second half, barely had a touch of the ball. 5.5/10
