Allegri: ‘I’ve spoken with Fagioli, I’m aligned with the club’

Start

Massimiliano Allegri says he has spoken with Nicolo Fagioli following the youngsters  12-month ban and explained why Dusan Vlahovic could be ready to start against Milan. The two sides face off tomorrow evening, both missing a number of key players through injury. Speaking to the gathered press, Allegri fielded inevitable questions about Nicolo Fagioli while offering an update on the status of several injury doubts:

“It will be a good match, challenging. Right now it’s the first against the third and we know the difficulties of playing at the San Siro”:

“Fagioli? Everything has been said, the club has spoken. I am in line with what Juve has said. Nicolò now begins a path that will lead him to be back on the field at the end of May. It will be months for him to maintain his athletic condition and get involved in social work. I spoke to him because it is not an easy time for him. He knows very well that we are waiting for him.

“The Scudetto? It’s normal that they say we’re the favourites, our objective is to score as many points as possible to arrive at the end of May among the top four. In the meantime let’s enjoy the match against AC Milan which will tell us what we are capable of. We have 17 points but we must remain calm and concentrated. Then there are vicissitudes in life.

“Vlahovic has been training with the team all week and is fine. I don’t know if he will be a starter, I will have to decide today. If he starts from the beginning he’s unlikely to have the whole game in his legs. Chiesa? today we’ll evaluate whether to call him up or not but above all if he’s happy to be available after the injury. Weah is growing after the first part of the season and now he’s doing very well. I still have to decide on the left between Cambiaso and Kostic, but they are players who can split the match in two at the moment.”

“The curiosity is to see what kind of game we will play in a packed stadium against a squad that is one of the three favourites to win the championship along with Inter and Napoli.

“Tomorrow the captain will be Rabiot. I won’t change the formation because I trust Rugani and Huijsen. Daniele at the moment can play in all positions in defence. He has grown in terms of personality and when you put him on the pitch he always responds. Then we have Huijsen who is ready to play.

“More likely Iling to play as a midfielder than Yildiz who is more of a second striker. Also McKennie can return in the middle of the field but we could also go to two in midfield. We find solutions. Given the absences of Pogba and Fagioli, since yesterday Nonge has joined the first team on a permanent basis.”
