Inter and Juventus linked with Khéphren Thuram

Start

Inter and Juventus could be set to go head-to-head in the race to sign OGC Nice midfielder Khéphren Thuram. The 22-year-old, younger brother of Nerazzurri striker Marcus, is one of the most in-demand young prospects in French football at present following a number of promising seasons with Les Aiglons.

Calciomercato.com report that:

“….having signed older brother Marcus, Inter continue to follow the youngest member of the family, Khéphren, a midfielder born in 2001 and currently playing for Nice. A left-sided midfielder with perspective and structure (1.92 m), Khéphren could be the player who would provide the physicality in the middle of the field that has been lacking since Roberto Gagliardini’s departure.

“His role is currently covered with excellent results by Mkhitaryan, who, among other things, is discussing his renewal with the Viale della Liberazione club, but next year the Nerazzurri’s midfield could undergo some changes and so we might as well keep the Thuram dossier open.

“A bit like Marcus, Khéphren also thinks a move to a Serie A team could be good for his development as a footballer. In France they claim that it was Thuram himself who turned away the attentions of Liverpool. The price of his trasfer is far from low, to wrest him from Nice, at least at present, would require between €25 and 30 million. A figure that is anything but trivial.

“And then there is the great interest of Juventus and of the new sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, who in unsuspected times tracked down dad Lilian, making it clear that for the Bianconeri club, his son is one of the priorities. It is very early days, we are facing a season that has only just begun, with so much still to tell. What is certain, however, is that Inter are not ignoring the Thuram Jr file, who through his brother is somehow, albeit from the outside, getting to know the Appiano environment. Things that in football mean everything and nothing.”
