Rudi Garcia confirmed that Amir Rrahmani and Juan Jesus are working their way back to full fitness ahead of the weekends match against Fiorentina. The Partenopei have finally started to find their feet in the league after a shaky start, but are still without a number of key players in the starting XI. Speaking to the press about the upcoming match against La Viola, Garcia confirmed that a number of players are starting to return to training but are still a way from being ready to start:
“The most important match is always the one coming up, but I agree: we’re level on points, we want to secure third place, we want to win and the objective is to beat a Fiorentina side who have started well and with quality.
“We still have tomorrow to see who is well and who is not, for the moment I see everyone doing well. We’ve studied the opposition, the coach changes players often because he has a lot of quality. I also watched them yesterday, he doesn’t change the way she plays according to the results.
“I also saw them strong in their aerial game, they’re one of those who has scored more headers and they are similar to us in the high recovery in the opponent’s half of the field, in this I think we’re first and they’re second or the opposite I don’t remember, but we’re Napoli and we have to continue the streak of victories with Udinese and Lecce. If we are able to make three victories in a row we can improve the ranking a lot.”
“In Lecce we didn’t concede any goals. Not conceding goals helps you a lot to win given the firepower up front. “The squad? Gollini and Juan Jesus should return to the group next week, gradually. Amir did a part with us today, we’ll see tomorrow. He’s almost recovered, obviously we won’t risk him but if he’s available there’s no need to leave him out even if he won’t have 90 minutes in his legs. We’re not in urgent need given the Ostigard-Natan pairing.”
