Allegri: ‘I’m happy with the boys’ performance’

Start

Juventus head coach Max Allegri has stated that he his happy with his team’s performance despite sharing the points in a 0-0 draw away to Atalanta on Sunday. The Bianconeri have now dropped points for the third time already this season after playing just seven matches in Serie A.

Speaking to DAZN after the match, Allegri said that he was ‘happy with the boys’ performance’, before going on to talk about the team going forward, Wojciech Szczesny and the game in general:

“I’m happy with the boys’ performance, especially for the point we got. It wasn’t easy, we played a good sixty minutes but we could have done better in certain moments: on a technical level we missed many passes, we could have verticalized more.”

“In the first half we could have been more precise and calm with the ball at our feet. The boys came together and played a good game. In the last twenty minutes of the first half we did well, we weren’t too confident in going in to score goals.”

On the attack: “We had two or three situations where we had to shoot from outside. We thought more about possession of the ball than about doing things badly. We’ll work on it.”

On Szczesny: “I didn’t see it, but he made an extraordinary save. Szczesny is one of the best goalkeepers in Europe, unfortunately bad evenings happen. We didn’t lose because of him, as we straightened the game out.”
