Max Allegri has provided a fitness update ahead of Juventus’ clash away to Atalanta on Sunday. The Bianconeri travel to Bergamo as they face off against La Dea at Gewiss Stadium. The 56-year-old head coach has stated that both Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik will not be able to play this weekend and has confirmed that Moise Kean will start.
It should be a fascinating encounter on Sunday between two sides that have both made solid starts to the campaign. Allegri has said that he is prepared for a close game and spoke to the media about injury issues, boos from the fans and on only playing in the league:
On expectations on the match: “The matches against Atalanta are always close. They haven’t conceded a goal at home yet and are unbeaten. We have to play with great attention and try to keep a good pace.”
“The team is working well and has enthusiasm and a desire to work. Every day we take advantage of the fact that we are not playing in the Champions League by trying to put some extra things into the players and the team. When you have younger or less experienced players you have to see the things in a positive way because there is only room for growth.”
On Vlahovic and Milik: “The important thing is that Vlahovic is better and he won’t be there tomorrow due to the usual back problem that kept him sidelined last week. Yesterday he stopped and today he was in a lot of pain so it’s better to stop him and try to let him recover fully. Kean will return and he is fine, but Milik will not be there, who after the match against Lecce had some minor discomfort in his calf and it is better not to risk it and let him fully recover so from Tuesday he will be in the group.”
On boos from the fans: “A nuisance? No, but they are situations that must be experienced as a stimulus to do better. Next year, if Juventus plays in the Champions League, it is a result for everyone, those who are inside Continassa, but also for the fans who can give us a great hand.”
