Gasperini: ‘Juventus? We know they’re one of the best teams’

Start

Gian Piero Gasperini is prepared for a tough match on Sunday as Atalanta host Juventus at Gewiss Stadium. La Dea are currently on a run of three straight matches with a win and will be hoping to beat the Bianconeri on their own turf for the first time in over two years.

The Atalanta head coach addressed the media in his pre-match press conference and spoke about the quality of their opponents, the fitness of Charles De Ketelaere and Gianluca Scamacca and what the key will be to the game:

“The focus is on this match, then there will be Sporting and Lazio. We have had a good streak, this is a week with three matches, one more important than the other. It’s a highly anticipated match, Juventus is a great team, I think there are no doubts about that. They have started well, apart from the trip to Sassuolo, we know they are one of the best teams.”

On De Ketelaere: “We have to wait for the afternoon training. Yesterday I was more pessimistic, today more optimistic: I will bring him in if he is well to play. If the test is positive he will be called up and he will be able to play.”

On Scamacca: “”We are progressing quite well. Maybe Thursday, hopefully Sunday.”

On what the key to the match is: “This is the most challenging part of the first part of the season. We played a friendly match in August against them, this is a good test for us, we are preparing with curiosity to understand what our dimension can be. Juve always score goals, the matches in which they don’t score are rare, they always have this ability to score, to win against Juventus you have to score more than one goal.”
