Gabriele Gravina suggested that the FIGC could take legal action against former Italy coach Roberto Mancini, following his shock resignation last month. Mancini opted to leave his post as Azzurri boss in favour of taking over the role as Saudi Arabia head coach.
Speaking after a Federal Council Meeting, FIGC president Gabriele Gravina said:
“I had to inform the Federal Council of what happened in August with the coach and also what happened in terms of the termination of the contract with the submission of the resignation.
“The council mandated a professional to get a technical legal opinion to see what kind of opportunities there may be to have compensation. Last night we saw each other with Mancini, we said goodbye for a moment because respect and education are key values in sports.”
