Max Allegri is refusing to get carried away with Juve’s recent form: ‘We have to keep our feet on the ground: our goal is to finish in the top four.’ The Bianconeri ran out impressive 3-1 winners over Lazio, with Dusan Vlahovic scoring a brace to put the tie beyond doubt, despite a spirited fightback from the Biancocelesti.
Speaking with DAZN post-game, Allegri insisted his team need to focus on the fight for the top four, despite sitting atop the Serie A standings for the moment:
“I’m happy with the performance, the win and the attitude of this team. Everyone did very well. Today there was a positive atmosphere and I’m happy. We have to keep our feet on the ground: our goal is to finish in the top four.
“In times of difficulty, even last year we did well with 72 points. We also compacted last year, this year we have more time to prepare for matches. We did well from a character and technical aspect.”
“We knew of Lazio’s quality. We were good in the beginning to be aggressive, then afterwards we went down a bit and we were united and compact. We conceded little and nothing in the first half. It wasn’t easy.”
“We must know that finishing in the top four will be difficult. Inter, Napoli and Milan are superior to the others. We have to do everything to stay hooked until December. Not playing in the Champions League is a detriment, next year getting there would be fundamental.”
‘The understanding between Chiesa and Vlahovic has grown a lot. Federico is good at playing closer to us and playing in the area he prefers. I think it’s the best game since he’s been at Juventus.”
“Locatelli and Miretti? The call-up to the national team and the good performance did Locatelli good. Miretti came off the back of a good performance. Tonight he played a good game.”
