Done Deal: Joaquin Correa to join Marseille

Start

Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille have reportedly agreed a deal with Inter for the transfer of Joaquin Correa. The Argentine winger was linked with a switch to Sevilla earlier in the week, but Marseille look to have moved forward with a more concrete offer of their own in the last 24 hours.

Sky Sport Italia report that Correa is ‘getting closer and closer to Marseille’ and this morning, his agent Alessandro Lucci is working to settle the contractual part of the player.

The formula for the move is likely to be an expensive loan deal with Marseille retaining an option to sign him outright for a total of €15 million. The loan will become an obligation to be signed outright in the event of Champions League qualification, which is a very important condition for both Inter and the Argentine striker.

Inter have already linked up a replacement for Correa and are expected to welcome back Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez to the club, just a year after he left the Nerazzurri to join Marseille.
