Cambiaso: ‘I think I played a very good game’

Start

Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso believes he still has room to improve but that his senior Juve debut was ‘a very good game’. The 23-year-old has been entrusted with the left-back role this summer after returning from a loan season at Bologna where he featured 32 times.

Speaking with Sky sport Italia of his debut, the youngster was brimming with confidence after a very encouraging debut:

One assist, many good plays. A debut like you probably dreamed of. Did you expect to fit in so well?

“Yes, let’s say it was a very good tour, we had a good preseason, yes, debuting like this is very good, I think I played a very good game.”

Good understanding with Chiesa on the left.

“Yes, Federico by his characteristics likes to start more on the left, I try to adapt, to find the free space. Today we did that well, even the third goal came from that. Federico started from the left, then he dumped it to me and Adrien’s header made the goal.”

How much more can you grow?

“A lot, it’s just the first game, it’s just the beginning, I know very well where I have to improve, where I can improve, I can do it.”

Where do you need to improve according to Allegri?

“The coach helps me a lot, he is talking to me a lot in this month, I am very happy with the relationship with him. Today at the end of the first half he asked me to move even a little less, because at 65′-70′ I already had half cramps, so it’s not normal, I have to learn to manage myself and do what I do for 90 minutes.”
