Juventus have ‘serious’ interest in Berardi

Start

La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Juventus are ‘serious’ about signing Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi in a deal worth up to €30 million. Reports circulated earlier this week that the 29-year-old had become an option for the Bianconeri, but talks with Sassuolo were not progressing as quickly as hoped.

La Gazzetta report that Juventus have already agreed a deal with Berardi for €3 million per season on a four-year contract. The newspaper outlines how Juve and Sassuolo will meet to officially kick off the negotiations, but at Continassa they have already formulated an offer for neroverde player.

According to the estimate made by sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, Juventus are willing to spend €20 million up front plus the addition of €4 million in bonuses. Separately, there is a willingness to give up a player for a valuation of €6/7 million, leaving Sassuolo free to choose the technical counterpart.

Matias Soulè has been mentioned so far, but different opinions have emerged between the two clubs and everything is being held in abeyance. At Sassuolo, they seemed more interested in Samuel Iling Jr, one of the brightest youngsters in Allegri’s squad. There are still distant evaluations though between the two clubs, but the idea of a loan option is gaining momentum.
