Inter have agreed a deal with Sampdoria to sign goalkeeper Emil Audero on loan with an option to sign him outright next summer. The goalkeeping positions have been a major focus for the Nerazzrri this summer as they looked for replacements for Samir Handanovic and Andre Onana. Having sealed a deal for Swiss keeper Yann Sommer yesterday, Inter were still in the market for a backup keeper who can play second-string.
Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio now reports that a loan move with Samp has been agreed for Audero, witht he player expected in Milan shortly to complete his club medical.
The deal will include an option to sign the 26-year-old outright next summer. Speaking upon leaving Inter’s headquarters, the players agent agent Tullio Tinti said:
“Audero more than an idea. Can it be confirmed? Yes. It’s an important opportunity, for the goalkeeper and for Inter. Audero has done very well in these years. Transaction on loan? You have to ask Inter.”
Audero was a product of the Juventus youth academy before making his way to Sampdoria where he’s spent the five seasons as their first choice keeper.
