Premier League side Brighton have confirmed the signing of Fiorentina defender Igor on a a four-year contract. The Brazilian centre-back joined the Seagulls in a reported €17 million deal, and gave his first interview to the clubs official TV channel, explaining that coach Roberto De Zerbi played a big part in his decision:
“I’m very happy, feeling very fulfilled and eager to start playing. What attracted me to join Brighton? First of all the desire to work with a coach that likes me and wants me here. Secondly, for my style of play and my way of evolution and growth, Brighton will be a big opportunity.”
“Playing in the Premier League is a childhood dream. I’m happy to have got this opportunity, to be arriving in the Premier League, and I hope to make a name for myself in such a league.
“I’ll give my best, my 100% as i’ve always tried to do. Trying to achieve the biggest goals with the team. And winning the hearts of the fans is also one of my goals.
