Sportitalia journalist Alfredo Pedullà claims Manchester United will send a formal offer to Atalanta for striker Rasmus Hojlund on Monday, while coach Gian Piero Gasperini says sometimes “we have to consider huge bids.” The Red Devils are closely linked with the Danish striker, but are yet to make a first effort to sign him.
Pedullà reports that Hojlund has already agreed personal terms with United, and coach Erik ten Hag is pushing to sign the centre-forward amid reports that PSG have also joined the race for the 20-year-old.
The suggestion is that the Parisians may have prioritized Hojlund’s signing over Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, meaning United will will need to move quickly to secure the Dane.
Speaking about the prospect of losing Hojlund, Gasperini was quoted as saying:
“Højlund and Man Utd? Sometimes there are choices to make and also agents… we all have to consider the financial factor.”
“He’s very happy here, I’d love to keep Rasmus of course but sometimes clubs and also players have to consider huge bids”.
