Napoli optimistic of Osimhen renewal

Start

Napoli are growing increasingly optimistic about renewing the contract of striker Victor Osimhen in the weeks ahead. The Nigeria international has been the subject of interest from Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain this summer, but the Partenopei are at work to extend his existing deal.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that there’s optimism on this front, as the relationship between the club and player is excellent, but that it won’t necessarily be easy to agree a renewal.

According to their report, club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has already rejected a €100 million offer from PSG for the 24-year-old, as he values him at closer to €200 million. As such, Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda is asking that the player’s salary matches the club’s valuation of him.

Napoli will reportedly offer the striker a €6.5 million a-year wage, the highest it has every paid any player, in an effort to keep him in Naples.

The club will also reportedly offer winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia an improved contract after his breakout debut season, increasing his salary from €1.2 million to €2.5 million net per season, and are once again confident of keeping the Georgian starlet.
