Inter and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the transfer of Andre Onana, with the player expected in England very soon. Talks have continued at pace as the Red Devils were very keen to find a long-term successor to David De Gea, who left United last week. The sticking point appears to have been the Nerazzurri’s valuation of Onana, but reports from Italy suggest there’s been a breakthrough.
Sky Sport Italia, Fabrizio Romano and others all report that a deal has effectively been completed by the two clubs, with the goalkeeper set to leave Serie A after just one year in Italy.
Inter were thought to be holding out for close to €60 million for the Cameroonian international who they signed on a free transfer last summer.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the sale is expected to be for closer to €50 million, and only final details are left to be defined. The player is yet to receive a visa for the UK, which may delay his move slightly, but it’s not expected to stop the deal from taking place.
Fabrizio Romano reports that paperwork for the move is being prepared now, and an official announcement will come later this week.
Onana spent one season with the Nerazzuri, winning the Coppa Italia and SuperCoppa in his one season in Milan.
