BREAKING: Inter withdraw from Lukaku negotations

Start

Inter have decided to pull out of the race to sign Romelu Lukaku after the Belgian striker entered into talks with Serie A rivals Juventus. News broke yesterday evening that the Nerazzurri were ready to pay Chelsea €35 million for Lukaku, along with various add-ons, however, Juventus had also negotiated with with the Blues and the player, reaching their own agreement.

Sky Sports reported that Nerazzurri management were ‘furious’ with Lukaku after he ignored their calls, with reports suggesting he had reached an agreement on a €10 million a season contract with the Bianconeri.

La Gazzetta dello Sport and others claimed that Lukaku was unhappy with the way he had been played by coach Simone Inzaghi last season, and was open to joining Juventus this summer.

Sky Sport Italia transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio now reports that Inter have informed Chelsea that they are pulling out of talks to sign the striker.

Di Marzio claims that Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio informed Lukaku last night in a 30-second phone call that they would not be signing him.

Juventus’ bid to sign the Belgian forward is expected to be contingent on them selling Dusan Vlahovic to Paris Saint-Germain in the weeks ahead.
