Goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini will remain at Napoli for another year with an option to sign him outright for €7 million next summer. The 28-year-old spent part of the 2022-23 campaign on loan with the Partenopei, playing as a backup to first-choice keeper Alex Meret.
Sky Sport Italia now confirm that Gollini is set to remain in Naples for another year, costing the Partenopei €400,000, with the option to sign him next summer set at €7 million:
“Pierluigi Gollini returns to Napoli. After the last 6 months with the Azzurri, the goalkeeper returns again on an valuable loan at 400,000 euros with the right of redemption set at 7 million. Transaction now finalized, only the medical examinations and signatures are missing. The Atalanta-owned goalkeeper had arrived in January 2023 after the first part of the season at Fiorentina. Four appearances for him in Serie A with Spalletti’s team after nine in Florence in all competitions. Last season had also been important for Gollini to return to Italy after his experience in the Premier League. In fact, he had accepted Tottenham’s offer in 2021. This was his third experience in England after his youth with Manchester United and the Championship with Aston Villa. For him over 125 appearances in Serie A with the shirts of Hellas Verona, Atalanta, Fiorentina and Napoli.”
