Premier League club Everton are closing in on the signing of Italy international and Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto. The 19-year-old was one of the few highlights of a poor season for Leeds that culminated in their relegation to the Championship.
SportItalia journalist Michele Criscitiello claims that the youngster is now close to agreeing a move to Everton, with the Toffees expected to pay €22 million to sign the player.
Gnonto joined Leeds from FC Zurich last September in a deal worth around €4.5m and went on to score four goals and provide four assists across 28 total appearances.
The youngster is considered one of the brightest prospects in the Azzurri setup and has already been called up 12 times by coach Roberto Mancini.
