Luka Romero: ‘Joining Milan is a dream come true for me’

Start

New Milan signing Luka Romero says it’s a dream come true for him to join the club, and explained the role that Alessio Romagnoli played in his move. The Argentine youngster signed a deal with the Rossoneri  until 30 June 2027, having left Lazio at the end of last month. Speaking with Milan TV he shared  his thoughts on completing the switch to the Rossoneri and why it’s such an important move for him:

“This club is a dream come true for me. It’s a club with a lot of history, I hope to do well here.

“San Siro is a very beautiful stadium. I’ve not played here but I’ve always wanted to, I just never came on. It’s a dream to be here.

“The most important thing for a player is to play. I’ve come here to learn a lot from some great players. I’ve come to learn and train with them; I’m sure I’ll develop because of it.

“Now that I’m here, I’m focusing on training hard, with things going well in international football, it’s what will be asked of me.

“It went well at the U20 World Cup. It was just a shame to get knocked out so soon but that’s football and honestly I’m just really happy now.

“I spoke with Alessio Romagnoli before joining. He called me and I spoke to him. He told me that it’s a club with a lot of history and that I’ll feel good here.

“As a kid you dream about playing in the Champions League, it’s a dream for everyone.

“I think that my favourite position is behind the striker, where Brahim played last season, but I can play on the left or the right as well. In terms of my role, I always watched Ronaldinho and Kaka, who I liked a lot.

“I’m a shy and relaxed guy. I like to be with my family. I don’t do much, I like playing tennis but I’m always at home with my family.”
