Milan have agreed personal terms for Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, but still need to find an agreement with AZ Alkmaar. The 24-year-old help AZ to fourth place last season, scoring three goals and providing 7 assists in the Dutch Eredivisie league, attracting the attention of a number of clubs.
La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Luca Bianchin reports that Milan’s negotiations for Reijnders are starting to bear fruit as they’ve reached an agreement on a €1.7 million-a-year deal with the Dutchman. Bianchin also claims that Reijnders is ‘at the forefront of Milan’s list of favorite midfielders’ as they look to rebuild after the sale of Sandro Tonali.
The Rossoneri will now have to enter into negotiations with AZ, who want at least €20 million for their prized midfielder, a fee that could be in reach, given Milan’s other operations.
The club are expected to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek for around €18 million, while USMNT star Yunus Musah could also be transferred for around €20 million, leaving them enough breathing room to also acquire Reijnders.
