Juventus legend Claudio Marchisio believes Dusan Vlahovic needs a coach who can improve him: ‘It’s also the responsibility of a coach.’ The former Bianconeri midfielder was speaking with La Gazzetta dello Sport (as quoted by Pazzidifanta) and touched on the poor form of the Serbian striker, as well as sympathizing with Paul Pogba, who had a difficult year, on and off the pitch:
“Pogba? I knew what happened to him . Something very serious happened to him and his family, I’m not surprised he wasn’t at his best. We hope that in the summer he will be able to recover physically but above all mentally, because if an athlete is not mentally well, both performance and physique are affected .
“Vlahovic? He started very well, then the groin slowed him down. There have been performances that weren’t up to par but he is a potential champion . On the other hand, there must also be a coach who is able to improve him, it is also the responsibility of a coach and staff to make him perform at his best. That said, he has qualities, he’s young and he can improve a lot .”
“Judging a season like this isn’t easy . The first part was not up to the squad, if changes were expected, they had to do it before the World Cup. We know very well what happened afterwards: at that moment we need people capable of managing all of this, not only the coach but also the team. Succeeding was a plus for both Allegri but above all for the players because living a season like this can only fortify the boys’ minds.”
