Premier League club Newcastle United have been offered the chance sign Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus this summer. The Swedish winger spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan with Tottenham Hotspur and was widely expected to remain in North London. Spurs retained an option to sign him outright for €35m, however reports from England now claim that the move may have fallen through.
The Newcastle Chronicle report that the Magpies have been given the chance to sign Kulusevski after Spurs failed to qualify for the Champions League. The newspaper writes:
With Spurs failing to qualify for any of the European competitions they were instead offered first refusal to buy the winger after Juventus officials met with Spurs in London. The 23-year-old has spent the last two years on loan with Spurs but is now being offered around the Premier League – and is keen to play in the Champions League.
Kulusevski’s representatives World Soccer Agency are now seeking a new challenge for the Juventus player. However, Newcastle, who have scouted the player in the past, will not be hurried into making any decisions.
WSA refused to divulge in the offer, which has featured in the Italian media in recent days, when approached by Chronicle Live. Speaking after the final game of the season, the winger said: “I honestly don’t know [what will happen], I just focus on doing the best possible on the pitch. Now of course I have to talk to the club and then we’ll see what happens.”
