Turkish SuperLig side Galatasaray are closely following Weston McKennie with an eye to making a bid for the Juventus midfielder. The USMNT international spent last season on loan with Leeds but failed to meet the requirements to be signed outright, meaning he will return to Turin in the weeks ahead.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Turkish club is ‘serious about McKennie’, and that he does not fit Juventus’ plans. The report outlines how Juve are already planning to negotiate his exit and would like to ‘monetize the transfer as much as possible’.
The request to sign the midfielder outright starts at €35 million, but the Bianconeri are willing to negotiate. That sum also represents the value of the clause fixed on the contract of Nicolo Zaniolo, who would like to return to Serie A and has never hidden his interest in wearing the Bianconeri jersey.
The Bianconeri need to replace Angel Di Maria, but they must first dispose of ‘redundant’ players: an exchange of loan collateral could be the first step to solve two needs in the immediate term: find a placement for a player who would have no future in Turin and make available to Allegri a good reinforcement for the attack, who would not need to settle in Serie A.
